Okay, here's the deal.
This summer I'm 100% busting my ass for the $ for an engine swap. I've narrowed down my choices (too many to count) to two options that are as follows:

B18C5 (1.8L)
Power - 195HP
Torque - 130 lb/ft
VTEC - 6000RPM
Redline - 8400RPM
Revlimit - 8500RPM
Compression Ratio - 10.6:1
Displacement - 1797cc
ValveTrain - DOHC 16 Valve VTEC
Pro's;
> One of the most recommended swaps for my car.
> High HP, with relatively high Torque for a Honda.
> Great for Boost.
> Delivers great power for being a 1.8L engine.
> Hand-built engine
> Forged internals, can handle HIGH rev zones.
> VERY rare engine to come across in a swapped car nowadays.
> Great Aftermarket
> Very reliable
Con's;
> EXTREMELY expensive ~ $4,500 completely installed STOCK. Internal mods would push $6,000. (Double the cars value.)
> Not as simple a swap as the B16A
> Stock B18 Tranny doesn't have the best gear ratio, so I'd need to buy a B16A tranny seperate.

B16A II Gen (1.6L)
Power - 170HP
Torque - 116 lb/ft
VTEC - 5800RPM
Redline - 8200RPM
Compression Ratio - 10.4:1
Displacement - 1595cc
ValveTrain - DOHC 16 Valve VTEC
Pro's;
> Easiest swap of any engine for my car. Was actually used in the JDM Civic SiR EG.
> Makes EXCELLENT HP for a 1.6L
> Great aftermarket
> Handbuilt head
> Some forged internals
> Reliable
> Modest CR for mild boost eventually
> Could find an ENTIRE swap for $2,500. Build the engine before I swap it, and I'd be at $4,000 MAX.
> Good for medium boost.
Con's;
> No Torque at ALL stock.
> I'm not sure if it's entirely forged.
> Somewhat hard to find.

Both engines share some similarities, but certainly have their benefits/drawbacks. What would you go for? Need some community help on this big decision.

I think for your suby you could turbo it for cheap. Connor's car has no room to gain from turbocharging it, its just not built for turbos. Thats why he wants a swap.

I hope you mean the D16Z6 has little gains in the future from a turbo. Which it still does...
I want a swap for more base horsepower to work with, the title of having a JDM EG SiR engine, and more future options.
And I think I'm going to go with the B16A to be honest.

Yes thats what i meant, and there is a much bigger community that turbos the b16A, the b16 is a wise choice, 2k cheaper for only 20hp and not that big of potential loss. Is the b16A an easier or harder swap.
